Glover Bight - Another Day
Monday, March 10th
Yesterday (Sunday) was a day of stress reduction. After coffee time, Brenda cooked a great egg & potato scramble with a side of bacon. I didn't sleep all that well Saturday night, so the next order of business was to take a nap. 🙂 In the afternoon, I continued my quest to conquer the GNU Build System. Advancing the project/tools from circa 2003 is a leap that I'm still picking my way through the details. In the evening, we dinghy'd to shore and went out for Indian cuisine with our friends Alan, Karen, Bob, and Colleen. The food was very good. If you're in the area...

I made phone calls to a boat yard and a rigger in Port Charlotte this morning. Unfortunately, the yard doesn't currently have space for Imagine. The rigger indicated that, at a minimum, the rig must be stepped for a thorough inspection as well as rewiring. I'm looking forward to their follow-up phone calls. I also looked into a marina slip, but since hurricane Irma slips are essentially non-existent.
My day working continued with mastering the GNU Build System. Not to bore you, but I do find it both fascinating and challenging.
We were invited to Alan and Karyn's to celebrate her birthday. Bob and Colleen were there. Alan prepared surf and turf. We had a wonderful evening. Music videos and dancing were part of the mix. We dinghy'd back to Imagine just after midnight.
Tuesday, March 11th
We slept in till sunrise. 🙂 Another mid-fifties morning but with beautiful sunshine. Coffee was excellent. My day was dominated by work. Brenda has kept busy knitting, reading, and watching movies.
I was able to confirm with the rigger for tomorrow morning's inspection and setup a haulout in Charlotte Harbor for Friday morning.

It's been a beautiful sunny day, albeit with a chilly breeze. We finally ascended the companion way @ 1700 to enjoy the end of another day. We later enjoyed another delicious dinner of fresh green salad with peppers & onion; topped with braised chicken breast. All in all, life is wonderful.
As my now departed friend Colin Whittaker often said, "Memories are better than dreams."
Make yours. It's never too late.
Glad to hear things r going well. Why are u getting hauled? Jim wallace
